IRSG Response – ICO consultation on international transfers under UK GDPR

The IRSG Data workstream has responded to the ICO’s consultation on international transfers under UK GDPR. The IRSG has responded to the three sections: (1) proposal and plans for the ICO to update its guidance on international transfers – including (a) interpretation of the extra-territorial effects of Article 3 UK GDPR, (b) interpretation of Chapter V UK GDPR); (2) transfer risk assessments and (3) ICO model international transfer agreements. Given the important of international data flows to the UK’s digital economy, the IRSG is keen to see a system that that maintains high standards of data protection, and trust and confidence.
