IRSG Roundtable with José María Roldán

Mr José María Roldán was Director General of Banking Regulation of the Bank of Spain and member of its Executive Board since October 2000 until October 2013. During his tenure as Director General he was a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), the Chairman of the Standards Implementation Group (SIG) of the BCBS from 2007 until the end of 2011 and in 2002/2003 he chaired the Joint Forum during the tenure of the BCBS. Mr Roldán was also the first Chairman and founder of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS), the forerunner of the European Banking Authority (EBA). He was under-secretary of state and Chief of Staff of the Vice-President of the Spanish Government between 1996 and 1997.

The purpose of this roundtable is to discuss global and European regulatory developments, including changes to the European supervisory architecture and the G20/FSB agenda. The links and common interests between UK and Spanish financial sectors in particular will be discussed.
